STILLNESS

STILLNESS

Seated meditation mudra in Hatha class with Dee — The Prana Room, Toronto GTA.

You’ve felt the thread pulling you toward something deeper.

Not more doing — more being.

At The Prana Room, yoga isn’t about perfect shapes. It’s presence over perfection, breath over bravado, nervous system over noise.

We honour yoga’s roots with cultural reverence and spiritual depth, without dogma or gatekeeping. Think of this as a gentle invitation to meet yourself; to turn inward, hold a posture long enough to feel what surfaces, and let your body lead. On some days, that looks like stillness. On others, it might look like discomfort or tears. Both belong.

This isn’t just a space to practice in. It’s a reminder that the sanctuary is within.

Meet Dee

The Prana Room began with a vision board and a simple wish: to make space for reconnection in a world that moves too fast. What started as a personal search for healing and growth evolved into a shared path of breath, stillness, and community.

In Thailand, twelve hour days of training turned yoga from something she did into a way she lives. “Prana,” the life force within all things, became the compass.

As a first generation founder, she holds cultural reverence quietly and firmly: honour the roots, make the depth accessible, and keep performance out of the practice. She does not stand ahead of students; she walks beside them. Some days are steady. Some are tender. All are welcome.

Why we go slow

When you stay in a yoga pose long enough to feel, things surface: tension, stories, shame, grief, laughter. We do not label them good or bad. We meet discomfort with breath and compassion. That is the work, and the gift.

Every body belongs here. We keep classes small, cues clear, and the pace kind to your nervous system. At The Prana Room, we believe yoga is one part of a whole wellness plate. It isn’t here to replace your existing practices — it’s here to complement them.

We encourage our students to honour all the tools that support their wellbeing, whether that’s therapy, medication, rest, strength training, or anything else that nurtures healing and growth.
